Mahendra Singh Dhoni - Best Finisher & a best Captain!!


Mahendra Singh Dhoni well-known as captain cool is one of the most successful captain for india as well as for CSK. He was born on 7th july in Ranchi, Bihar.

 

Indian cricket team never had good finisher which made India lose many matches. India always comes out with good opening pair followed by a wall in the middle overs. Indian cricket team had class batsman like Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Sehwag. Yet, India failed to dominate the world cricket because there was always a finisher missing to clear the fences at the end overs.


Dhoni started his carrier as an aggressive player, known well by the famous helicopter shot. Once he was selected as the Indian team captain, he changed his batting techniques and made himself stay in the crease till the last over.

1. Long hair made short.

Dhoni became a star in very short period, his rocket shots and his long hair impressed many of us, including Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf. But, what was the reason behind his hair-cut?

2. Football & Badminton made him a better cricketer.

Msd isn’t trained to be a cricketer, he was selected in district level for football & badminton. Later, he was sent to play cricket suggested by his football club. His wicket keeping skills are a outcome of his goal keeping techniques. He has been brilliant behind the stumps.



 

3. Ticket collector is now the captain for world X|

Dhoni played his ranji trophy after a great performance in U19 where he played for Bihar. He worked as a ticket collector from 2001-03 to support his family, at the same time worked hard and improved his skills with the bat as well as behind the stumps. 


Not to forget, his journey as a leader, Dhoni made the dream come true for the living legend sachin tendulkar by handling over the world-cup. His wise decisions and match finishing performance made him the best captian where he was selected as the captain for the world X|.

 

4. Love for bikes

He had over 23 bikes in his garage ranging from Harely Davidson to Ducati. Msd is a great fan of bikes and SUVs, he is the only one in south east asia to own Confederate X132 Hellcat bike.

  • Fastest century in test by an Indian wicket keeper and the third fastest century in the world by any wicket keeper.

  • India reached its highest test score of 726-9 under his captaincy against Srilanka in 2009.

  • 2009, India defeated Srilanka 2 - 0 India reached the no. 1 spot in test cricket under Msd’s captaincy.

  • Dhoni led India to win the first t20 world cup defeating the arc rivals Pakistan.

  • One of his best record is winning the world cup in 2012, which was the last world cup for Sachin Tendulkar, honoured the legend with the cup which he was desperately waiting for.
